Length: 1 meter
Material: 14k gold filled wire
Gold content: 5%
Diameter: 0.25/0.41/0.64/0.81mm (30/26/22/20gauge)
Weight: 0.46g/1.15g/2.83g/4.75g

Gold filled wire is composed of a solid layer of gold (typically constituting at least 5% of its total weight). Unlike the cheap gold plated wire, the gold filled wire won’t tarnish and will not rub off or turn colors.

If you are attracted by the beauty of the gold filled wire but is scared of its price tag. I suggest to test your design really well using cheap wires first; then make the final product using the gold filled wire.

  • 28-32 Gauge wire can be used to string beads with very small holes, such as top-drilled briolette.
  • 24-26 Gauge wire can be used to string beads with relative small holes, such as pearls and other natural stones. Or connect multiple beads together.
  • 22 gauge wire can be used to make jump rings and ear wires.
  • 18-20 gauge wire can be used to make rings, letters, and other heavy duty work.
